After spending many years directing commercial photography all over the world David Hobcote now shoots from his purpose built studios on his farm in Yorkshire. He has combined his photography with his love of travel and subsequently travels extensively photographing landscapes buildings, people and wildlife all over the globe. The results are sold to newspapers, magazines and books. Last year there were sales in over 20 countries in publications from Hello magazine to center spread of the Guardian newspaper. In addition to this, David’s collections of limited edition prints have become much sought after amongst his admirers.
It was on one of these photo trips he met Scott McMillan ( Charity Director ) by chance on the shores of Lake Malawi in November 2008. David agreed to visit Kaponda Village to take some photographs for publicity to help raise awareness of the huge orphan problem facing the country. They met again some two weeks later in Lilongwe the capital of Malawi after David had had chance to experience for himself the warmth of the people and the great poverty they faced. As a result of this David has donated all sales of photographs taken during his visit to Malawi to help raise funds for the projects in Kaponda.
