We are keen to stimulate cultural exchanges between pupils of Malawi and Scotland. Living locally but learning globally can only be enhanced by twinning schools and encouraging educational sponsorship. Individual schools or classes taking ownership of specific provision can facilitate a most rewarding experience in both countries. The opportunities are wide, £0.50 buys a pair of flip-flops that allows a child to walk several miles to school, whereas £1,200 sponsors University fees for a young Malawian.
We would be most interested in encouraging a coordinated response from any Scottish local authorities’ Education Department.
